About This Course

This introductory module has been designed to provide support for anyone who is about to take up a position as a tutor in a Residential College. The module is designed around the principle of creating an environment that engages students, and it is particularly suited for tutors that wish to use group activities in their sessions.

The aims of this module are:

• to provide you with ways to increase student engagement in your teaching sessions;
• to provide an opportunity for you to think about your teaching and your role;
• to provide the foundations upon which you can extend and enhance your teaching knowledge, understanding and skills;
• to raise awareness of the University resources available to you and your students.
